Firman, Charles, Pvt. Co. E, Cres. Regt. La. Inf. En. Sept. 28, 1862, Camp Pratt. Present on Rolls to Feb., 1863. On Register of Prisoners of War, dated April 27, 1863, Captured Butte a la Rose, April 20, 1863. Sent to New Orleans, La., to be exchanged.”


Note: The misspelling of “Firmin” is inconsequential; the military unit corresponds to the one on the gravestone.
