Hilda Ann Rebouché, passed peacefully and into eternal life to join Our Lord and her loved ones early Christmas morning at Saint Francis Cabrini Hospital, surrounded by her loving husband and 7 children at the age of 76. Hilda or "Meme", as her family knew her, passed away far too early for the active and passionate life she exuded each day for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The unconditional love, enthusiasm and pride she had for her family was demonstrated each day to all who had the fortune of knowing her.

Among the people who will miss her the most are: her husband for more than 38 years, Walter Rebouché' of Bunkie; her seven children, Charlene (and Dr. Daniel) Murphy of Lafayette, Donald (and Shelia) LaBorde of Lafayette, Cheryl (and Jack) Riche' of Bunkie, Richard "Ricky" (and Darlene) LaBorde of Victoria,TX, Alice "Faye" (and Kent) Juneau of Mansura, Michael (and Patty) Rebouché' of Cottonport and Madeline (and Charles) Middlebrooks of Bunkie; her 22 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and her younger brother Madison Firmin of Fort Worth, TX.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Lessie and Octave Sibbie "O.S" Firmin, her husband Donald Paul LaBorde, granddaughter Nicole Leigh Murphy who was tragically taken from her earlier this year, and her older brothers, Elson and Myron Firmin.

A native of Plauchéville, Louisiana, Hilda was raised in Cottonport, but spent the majority of her full life in Bunkie, Louisiana. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grand and great grandmother, friend and caring soul. She was a long time active and devoted member of the Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church community for more than 50 years. Above all, was her faith in God and unconditional love for her family. She will be truly missed but never forgotten.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Jack Michalchuck at 11a.m., on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Saint Anothony of Pauda Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the Pythian Cemetery under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.
