This male blue dasher is executing "obelisking," which is a kind of dragonfly display.  Perhaps it is designed to attract females, perhaps it is also designed to ward of other males--in any case, it is provocative.  This fine specimen was in Anne's back garden on the evening of August 9, 2005.
