Hidden Treasure

Perhaps you are wondering why there are so many of these,

These metrics of my days, items, tokens, markers of my days.

Perhaps this is a good place to hide the treasure I have to offer,

This treasure which will make you rich in wonder and

Which will open and deepen your inner self.

Perhaps not.

Perhaps you will not be able to break the code,

To grasp the meaning hiding in these obscure lines.

Perhaps you will move on to tomorrow’s poem,

Shrugging this day off as if it were not even a poem.

Perhaps once you have read today’s poem

You will read it again and again

Hunting for the treasure, or for a clue to the treasure.

The clue is here, in this poem, and

So is the treasure.
