Sunday Light

Bright light, coming from afar,
Leaving the great star,
Destined for the great planet, earth.
Coming through cold space, through darkness
Arriving here upon my humble retinae
Just in time for Sunday worship.

Just in time, only in time,
Only in time would it be possible
For light to travel.

Time is a complement of space:
Without time, no space;
Without space, no time.

Grateful am I for this travelled light,
These wonderful photons pulsing
Ever so gently through time and space
To reach me on this blessed Sunday
Just in time to celebrate the glory of the sun.
