The Boston Marathon Bombings

All the way from Chechnya the brothers came,

Learned the language and learned the clothes, but

Old Islam kept its hold, would not let go.

Life in America became an irritant,

Causing the attachment to Islam to grow,

Chiseling in them a fiery vision of right.

Boston was the stage,

The April Marathon the play,

Pressure cooker bombs the props.

All the way from Chechnya the brothers came,

Fashioned the bombs, waited for the moment,

Said their prayers, and acted.

Chechnya is a long way from Boston, but

The world is small and Boylston Street

Exploded with jihad joy.
