Warm Cider
In winter it is
good to drink warm cider.
The juice of the
apple, left to mellow,
Seasoned with
good spices, warmed,
Warmed, poured,
gracing its mug, and
Then the warm
sweet scent of cider
Preceding the
touch of lip of my mug to my lips.
Then the flavor
savored as the wonder faculty
Of my mouth
meets the warm cider’s essence.
Then another
sip, another new festival
Of scent and
taste.
