Jack Frost

This morning as he walked

He noticed that Jack Frost had come,

Frosting lawns and all that lay exposed

To cold air’s redeeming grace,

Refusing its grace to all which harbored

The least quantum of warmth.

Jack Frost.

Benign, wonder-working winter friend,

Coming in the night to place upon the earth

This light, benign, fractal-rich layer

Of blessing.
