Bethlehem Weather

What was the weather like in Bethlehem?

By all accounts it was clear—

A clear mild night, rich with stars, and

Upon the hills shepherds were awakened

By strange singing,

Singing which played upon their hearts,

A heavenly player, playing shepherds’ hearts.

And along the road, camels,

Walking with camel grace,

Walking with the swaying motion of camels,

Walking, walking,

Their drivers guided by a great star. 

And riding the camels,

Men, kings from afar--

Riding their camels to Bethlehem,

Their camel saddlebags packed

With fine silk robes, costly swords, and

Gold.
