Why, Jesus, did you take our Grandma away?

Did you feel that heaven needed one more angel today?

Why, Jesus, does loving someone so much have to hurt so bad?

Do you realize, Jesus, our hearts are crushed and that we are all so sad?

Grandma, we know how much your family meant to you

You were always there for anyone of us when our lives were blue.

You cried with us, laughed with us, and worried about us too

You were the one in our family who carried us all through.

Every single problem each and every one of us had

No matter how big or how small.

We all knew, just what to do

Ask Grandma and she would make it all new.

One phone call, one word, one tear from us

and Grandma you always came through.

It just breaks our heart

To know that nothing will ever be the same without you.

Some of our fondest memories of you are from the younger years of our lives.

From making us beignets for breakfast to all the going to school  drives.
You taught us all we know especially how to be a lady and that we will never let go.

We wish we would have given you a rose every time you altered our clothes.

You sewed every button so very tight to make sure everything look just right.

Your stitches were done with love and care and we will cherish them when we put
them on to wear.

Grandma Verdie, As we sat by your bed,
A million thoughts ran through our heads.
Of just how much were you aware?
Did you know that we were there?

Could you feel the love we sent,
In whispered words, Or prayers bent?
So we could tell you just once more,
"We love you grandma!" as we had before.
And we could chat like days of old,
Over coffee cups all rimmed with gold.

She was a mother of four and many more.

How many times we sat on your lap crying buckets of tears

You just gently held us in your arms and tried to calm all our fears.

Yes, Grandma, watching you take your last breaths of your life broke our hearts.

Yet, you bore the pain so bravely

And we never heard you complain.

You are with Jesus now, tell grandpa we love him too and miss him just the same.

A thousand times we needed you
A thousand tears we cried
if love alone could have saved you
Grandma, you would have never died.

A heart of gold stopped beating
two beautiful eyes closed to rest
God broke our hearts Monday.

To prove to us He only takes the very best!

Why, dear Jesus, did you take our Grandma away?

We know you needed her in Heaven and we know she’s watching over us all today.

We love you dearly, Grandma, You will live forever in our hearts

And we know that when we need you, we are just a prayer apart!
