Prayer for Peace

O great and holy God, Creator of all that is,
We praise you, and we thank you for all your innumerable gifts,
And we pray that we,
Whom you have made in your image and likeness,
We who are your people,
Know peace in our day.

We pray for peace in these lands of your wondrous creation:
Palestine and Israel, Kashmir, Darfour,
Indonesia, Srilanka, and Ireland,
Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan.

In this Lenten season
We pray that your peace may come to dwell in our deepest hearts.
