Catholic Perspectives on the Human Body
Fall, 2007

September 10, 24, 27 and October 1, 8, and 15 - 9-11 a.m.

The seminar will provide an occasion for adults of all faiths to focus on the many dimensions of the human body through study, reflection, and discussion.  We propose to explore the Catholic church’s teachings concerning the nature of the human body and issues such as abortion, chastity, celibacy, euthanasia, and stem cell research.  Special attention will be devoted to the late Pope John-Paul II’s “Theology of the Body.”  Seminar leaders will be Professors Jim Bolner, Sr., and Greg Hussey.  All meetings will be held in the atrium of the parish administration building of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2105 Stuart Avenue.  There is no fee and pre-registration is not required.  A tentative outline and list of resources can be found at: http://bodoc.net/cathpers/y07fallbody/outline.htm.  For more information about the seminar please contact Jim Bolner, Sr., at 766.5987 or jimbolnersr@cox.net.
