Screensavior's Litany
Faithful guardian of the time when I am not,
Have mercy on us;
Punctual keeper of the pixcelled colors,
Have mercy on us;
Flashing renewer of the immediate image,
Have mercy on us;
Constant source of bright exhilaration,
Have mercy on us;
Ever-changing sign of my world,
Have mercy on us;
Graceful renewer of the thing I see,
Have mercy on us;
Speedy exciter of my gift of sight,
Have mercy on us;
Dedicated and devoted servant,
Have mercy on us.
O, you, who responds to my lapses of attention,
Pray for us, we beseech you;
Who is held suspended by another law,
Pray for us, we beseech you;
Strange creature of an unknown sister or brother,
Pray for us;
Who keeps vigilant watch over my life,
Pray for us;
Who turns without tiring in the tedium of time,
Have mercy on us;
Who has no muscles, yet who easily lifts the eye,
Have mercy on us;
Obscure motor of my recreation,
Have mercy on us;
Who never questions the maker's design,
Have mercy on us;
Who curves and spins in unanticipated ways,
Have mercy on us;
Constant friend,
Have mercy on us;
Who never questions my determinations,
Have mercy on us.
O, bright and good creature of anonymity,
Stay with me;
O, plain companion of my little dry hours,
Stay with me;
O, wondrous and obedient thing,
Stay with me.
