Pear Trees

If you do insist on planting pear trees,
Know that a certain autumn will come,
Sooner than you expected,
And you will be in awe as you see
Pear tree branches bending, suffering with their burden.
Where every blossom was
Will now be a wondrous, inviting fruit,
Pleading to be picked.
