Orion and Company

Orion is not alone,

Surrounded by the entire menagerie of night.

His belt hanging at his side, his faithful dog,

Sporting the brightest eye, follows behind.

Procyon trails the dog and its eye,

Followed by the twins, Castor and Pollux,

Who in turn dwell in the arc begun by Capella.

In the neighborhood live lions and fish,

Musical instruments and many things of earth.

And so it goes: sky becomes an image of earth.
