Conceiving the Light Year

Light deals in lumens and brightness.

And speed: always traveling, always going

Through space and things.

Light brilliantly penetrates not only darkness

But also zips along the curious architecture of space.

Through my eye light goes,

Stopping just a moment to trigger my sight

Only to continue, hitting and bouncing

Upon the back of my head,

Going, going, always leaving

Always trying to leave a mark.
