The Rain
in Spring Falling at times gently and
at other times harshly, Spring rain comes to us, Falling upon us, showering
us with nourishment and hope, Falling without heed of
need or merit. Spring rain meets welcoming
earth, Falling upon bare ground,
grass blades, upon roses, upon the roofs of
houses, and Welcoming earth warmly
takes falling rain unto itself, Feeding oaks, tupelos,
hackberries, cedars-- All without heed of need or
merit, Following the same rule in
all its great and universal falling. --April 15, 2013 |
