Reading
Text How do
you
read text? Do you read the words, or Do you see the words, and Seeing the words enter the
author’s world? How do you read text? Do you seek to connect with
the author’s intent? Do you seek to grasp what
the author is saying, and Have its light give you
sight? Example: The author writes, and you
read: “I went down to Piraeus.” You see the author travel
to the next town. But if you know where
Piraeus is, and What Piraeus means, You will see that you are
invited to travel Not to the next town, but To leave the salons and
trimmed nails of Athens To descend to the world of
commerce, and Harsh reality. --April 25, 2013 |
