Rediscovering the Moon

I am renewed each time my sister moon calls,

Rising or setting, gracing evening or morning sky.

I am renewed, refreshed, and made at once proud and humble:

Proud that I have been accorded the great blessing

Of looking upon the changeling face of my sister moon.

Humbled by the lesson taught by eye, telescope, and camera:

That all this is gift, all this is free, all this is unearned, and

Granted  without regard to work or merit.

I am renewed each time camera and telescope

Catch the changeling face, and

Thrilled when the shutter does its work.

I am renewed in prayer each time I am called by my sister moon.
