Monday

Named for the ever-circling, volatile moon,

With firm logic the day follows Sunday.

Treated as the second day of the week,

In truth it marks the start of another week,

Another week filled with days whose names

Will attempt to help us discern the passing of time.

Sunday worship done,

Pleasure and rest at an end,

On Monday we put on our mundane clothes, and

Start the week,

Filled with promise and vague and complex hope.
