Tedium

Tedium settles in,

Settling upon the self,

A blanket of dumb waiting.

At the heart of tedium

A hard vague core of awareness exists,

A little light shining amidst a world of dumb waiting.

Tedium will not completely pass, but

It will change.

A nurse will come, a caregiver will appear, and

The structure, the texture of tedium will change.
