Friday, Robins

Today, Friday, I shall visit City Park.

Under the oaks robins will walk,

Spending their Friday morning

Dramatizing ancient peace.

I will capture their images,

Solid birds, walking without pattern

Upon the oak-shaded ground.

I shall hold their images in my camera

Until I spill them upon my computer screen,

Straightening their stance,

Checking their tendency to recede into oaks’ shade,

Cropping, balancing the color, removing blemishes

Until the images are ready to be brought forth,

To be used as a prompt for meditation

Upon the glory of robins, oaks, and ancient peace.
