Reflections on
German Philosophy
Here, in a
nutshell,
Is German
philosophy.
Being-in-itself,
curled up upon itself like a tight fractal,
Knows itself in
all its dimensions, characteristics, and
qualities.
It knows,
understands, grasps, and holds
Its past, its
present, and its future
All tightly in
its transcendent fist.
Being-in-itself
provides the guiding, organizing principles
Of all science,
from astronomy to zoology.
Unless we
confront, address, resolve
This threshold
problem of the nature of being, and
Keep it lucidly
in our wonderful minds,
We will be on
the level of superficial everyday existence—
In short, we
will be incapable of exploring science.
There, in a
nutshell,
Is German
philosophy.
