On Politics

We need air and we need politics.

We also need poetry, but that’s for another day.

And we need suffering, butthat can wait.

Let’s stick to politics.

Savor the word—politics. 

Remember the agora and the plaza. 

Recall the podium and the parade—

All friends of the word.

One community. One commune.

Many persons.

Each carrying a rich and heavy history.

Each with a vision of right order.
