Pelicans in Flight

Grey, then white,

As they bend their great wings earthward, then skyward.

Their numbers are biblical,

Spread as they are against the winter sky,

With a regular movement, slow movement,

Wheeling, lifting while circling.

Then, with a grace we would want remembered,

The great white pelicans begin their descent.
