WORKING WITH ELLIPSES AND OTHER SHAPES   

NOTE: EACH ACTION CREATES A NEW LAYER; THE ELLIPSE IS "VECTOR 1";
WHEN THE FLOOD FILL TOOL IS USED, YOU WILL BE PROMPTED TO ACCEPT
CHANGING IT TO A "RASTER" LAYER.

 1) Set background color to no color; set foreground color to the color desired
for the outline of the shape.

2) Select Ellipse tool (or other tool) tool and draw ellipse; click "Show Nodes"; adjust the shape.

3)  Select Flood Fill tool and fill in area outside of ellipse; choose 100 percent opacity;

4) Go to Layers and select Merge > Merge all (flatten).
